Interior Architecture Design
Design Statement: My design approach is shaped by personal experience and a strong belief in accessibility, inclusivity, and ease of navigation. Having experienced life with mobility aids, I became aware of how often spaces fail to support disabled users through poor circulation, inaccessible washrooms, missing lifts, narrow aisles, and unnecessary level changes. This has shaped my belief that design should be accessible first and aesthetically considered second. Beauty has limited value if space cannot be experienced by everyone. My aim is to create functional, inclusive, and welcoming environments that allow people to move, participate, and enjoy life with dignity.
Project Overview: This project is centered on sustainability, accessibility, and inclusive retail experience. It responds to the need for spaces that support conscious consumption while remaining easy to navigate and welcoming for all users. The concept reimagines the thrift store as an open, accessible, and engaging environment rather than a traditional second-hand retail space. The design prioritises clear circulation, inclusive spatial planning, and opportunities for users to learn more about sustainable choices. By combining accessibility with sustainability, the space aims to create a retail experience that is functional, educational, and inviting, encouraging users to engage with responsible consumption in a more comfortable and meaningful way.
