HW-GDS 2026

Communication Design Showcase
The Communication Design programme responds to the evolving demands of contemporary creative industries and develops confident, critically engaged designers. Students work on live briefs set by industry partners to build conceptual, technical and strategic abilities across graphic design, branding, moving image, illustration, photography and immersive and interaction design.
It positions design as an active agent in cultural and societal change. Through design activism, critical inquiry and future thinking, students challenge conventions, interrogate systems and propose new ways of communicating in a rapidly shifting world. A strong industry‑facing ethos enables them to address social and environmental issues with clarity and intent. Emerging technologies, including AI‑assisted design, prepare students for shifting professional landscapes. Graduates become confident, imaginative practitioners who create meaningful, real‑world, impactful and socially relevant work for industry and society.
