Interior Architecture Design
Design Statement: Design is a potent tool for transformation, healing, and connection. Spaces should do more than serve functional needs; they should create emotional experiences that support wellbeing and encourage introspection. My design approach focuses on fostering harmony between individuals and their surroundings through the considered use of natural elements, light, and fluid forms. I am particularly interested in how spatial arrangement can balance opportunities for solitude with moments of shared experience, promoting comfort, awareness, and social connection. Through careful spatial sequencing and sensory sensitivity, I aim to create environments that respond to human emotional and social needs. My work strives to cultivate resilience, belonging, and reflection by designing spaces that encourage rejuvenation and a deeper connection with both the self, others, and the environment.
Project Overview: The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were pivotal events in human history, reflecting both the heights of technological ingenuity and the depths of moral rupture. This project responds to that historic fracture by transforming narratives of destruction into a spatial framework for reflection, healing, and renewal. The proposed space functions as a wellness and rejuvenation hub – a permanent environment where people can step away from the noise of contemporary technology and reconnect with mindfulness, empathy, and ethical awareness. Architecture becomes a didactic medium, encouraging moderation, introspection, and harmony through spatial experience. The design integrates three interwoven typologies: – A meditation and isolation retreat supporting introspective solitude, – a space for reflection and healing that encourages emotional processing and reconnection – a botanical healing garden, symbolizing growth, renewal, and vitality.
