CYCLES OF RECYCLES

Design Statement: Design should feel lived in, grounded, and connected to everyday life. I am drawn to spaces where people feel at ease, return over time, and build a sense of belonging. My approach is rooted in nature and shaped by the value of translating natural systems into the built environment. Through natural materials, textures, spatial flow, and adaptability, I aim to create spaces that feel balanced, intuitive, and connected. Rather than designing environments that feel fixed or overly refined, I am interested in creating spaces that change with people and support comfort, wellbeing, and belonging over time.

Project Overview: This project explores the study center as a spatial system shaped by cycles of activity, rest, and renewal. Guided by the principles of Pulse, Pause, and Renew, the layout encourages users to move between study, interaction, rest, and reflection within one connected environment. Transitional “pause” zones are intentionally placed between active programme areas, encouraging users to slow down and decompress before entering a new space. Through biophilic design, layered zoning, and circulation, the project redefines the study center as an environment that supports wellbeing, collaboration, and sustainable academic routines, rather than continuous output.
