From Spectators to Formula One Insiders

Design Statement: Design is a tool for storytelling, participation, and human connection. I am interested in designing immersive, technology-driven experiences that foster emotional connections and expand access to typically restricted spaces. My work combines digital experience design, branding, and world-building to create interactive environments that feel meaningful and authentic. I am particularly interested in how immersive design can blur physical and virtual boundaries, strengthen community, and deepen fan engagement. Through this project, I explore how Formula 1 fans can experience the atmosphere, tension, and culture of the sport from within, shifting from passive spectators to active participants.

Project Overview: Formula 1 fans crave deeper emotional access to the sport, yet its most compelling moments—pre‑race tension, behind‑the‑scenes preparations, and the charged atmosphere of the paddock—remain largely restricted to VIPs and insiders. This creates a hierarchy of experience that prevents most spectators from fully inhabiting the world they admire. This project uses immersive technology as both a narrative and experiential bridge, transforming passive viewership into active participation. Through strategic design thinking, it reframes fandom as a shared presence- integrating world‑building, interactive experience design, and branded environments to cultivate a sense of belonging once reserved for a select few. The outcome is a virtual reality platform that positions fans as virtual teammates, offering real‑time access to garages, pit walls, and pre‑race rituals without disrupting the sport. In doing so, it reimagines how audiences engage with Formula 1 culture, both at the circuit and beyond
