Communication Design
Design Statement: As a designer, I am interested in creating emotionally immersive and culturally meaningful experiences. My work explores how digital media, and spatial storytelling can preserve identity, memory, and connection in contemporary ways. By blending technology with cultural narratives, I use tools such as projection, virtual environments, and interaction design to transform heritage into something living and experiential. My approach focuses on atmosphere, emotion, and participation, encouraging audiences to engage with culture beyond observation. Through Bayt, I aimed to create more than a visual representation of Palestine by evoking a sense of presence, belonging, and familiarity for those who may feel physically disconnected from it.
Project Overview: Bayt is an immersive, cultural experience that reconnects people with Palestine through memory, atmosphere, and storytelling. Designed for those unable to visit physically, the project recreates that emotional feeling of home through projection, virtual environments, sound, and interaction. Rather than presenting heritage as static information, Bayt focuses on feeling, presence, and cultural connection. The experience invites users to explore spaces inspired by Palestinian architecture, traditions, and everyday life, transforming remembrance into something interactive and personal. By blending technology with cultural identity, Bayt becomes both a digital archive and an emotional journey through belonging, nostalgia, and home.
