Interior Architecture Design
Design Statement: “A space only exists when it is felt.” Design is an act of observation and emotional understanding. Identity is fragile, and space has the power to either support or unsettle a person’s sense of self. My design approach focuses on creating meaningful environments where people can emotionally connect with what is being experienced or displayed. As a designer, I aim to create spaces that people remember, feel, and reflect on long after they have left. Not every space needs to be conventionally beautiful; some spaces must hold emotional transformation. For me, meaningful design allows users to feel that the space was created with them in mind.
Project Overview: This project reimagines memory and emotional healing as a physical and spatial experience rooted in personal narratives, movement, and immersive interaction. Inspired by spiral galaxy formations, the space is designed as a journey from scattered to harmonic zones, reflecting a gradual shift from emotional fragmentation to healing and reconnection. The project creates an environment where complex and often unspoken emotions, particularly those experienced by immigrants and mothers navigating postpartum challenges, are acknowledged and valued. Through introspection and sensory engagement, the space not only preserves memories, but also transforms how they are experienced, encouraging self-reflection, belonging, and emotional growth.
